Ombre Striped Nail Art

I follow some fantastic nail artists on Instagram so every day I see amazing designs I wish I had thought of first! Most of the time I like/ comment and scroll on by with a hint of jealousy lol

Sometimes I can’t just scroll on by and I have to recreate the design. This is one of those times. The original design was from _lifeisnails_ on Instagram. She did this with a pink and purple ombré and it caught my eye!

I don’t like to copy exactly and I had recently been to TKMaxx and grabbed some awesome new polishes so I started with a base of Ciate – Holiday Blues. It’s a fab colour from their Under The Sea collection.

I used another polished from the collection to create my ombré design, Palm Tree. It was then my black and white staples that created the stripes. Orly – Liquid Vinyl & Mavala – Antarctic.

This is a really easy design to create as long as you have a make up sponge (for the gradient) and striping tape. So here is a pictorial to show you each step. The important thing about this design is top coat! Once you have done your ombré design a top coat blends the two colours together giving a smoother transition and when you have done the stripes it evens out the extra layers of polish.

Here are a few more images of the finished design, I hope you like x
