Today let’s talk Models Own, in particular the new Twilight Hypergels. With all the new seasons releases I was waiting for Models Own to announce theirs as I love their polishes.
Finally the announcement came 2 weeks ago that the autumn/winter shades were additions to the Hypergel range. I only have 3 of the Hypergels but I am a big fan of gel effect polishes so this was exciting news.
Now the new release was not small, it consists of 13 polishes! As much as I would have loved to be able to show you the whole lot I could only afford 6 at this time. So Models Own have kindly supplied a picture of the full set so you can see.
Lunar Grey I am a sucker for grey polishes, the look so classy. This one is a nice light shade that adds some brightness to the gloomy days.
Everyday Grey This is more like other greys I have as its a darker grey. Team this with some white nail art and it will make an awesome twist on the traditional monochrome designs.
Teal This is the standout polish for me. Teal is such a gorgeous colour and really eye catching.
Deep Sea I have not seen many polishes in this shade and it’s so nice. A nice change from black but not too in your face with colour.
Cashmere Rose A really pretty dusky pink, this is a lovely polish. Some floral nail art will really make this colour sing.
Grey Storm The name is a little confusing as this is more a coffee coloured polish but it’s pretty none the less. A perfect autumn colour.
As mentioned earlier I love gel effect polishes, no matter the brand they are strong in colour and super shiny. Each swatch here was 2 coats of polish without top coat, so you can see the gloss effect.
The same as Barry M, these new Models Own polishes have the wide flat brush. Personally I think the brush shape can be both good and bad, good for a quicker application but for those with small nails it can be a pain and add to the clean up, also the wider brushes allow air bubbles to occur. Other than the brush these gels are really good, they have a nice thick consistency strong in pigment. They are opaque in two thin coats and level pretty well on the nail. The gloss finish is superb but it’s always recommended to add a top coat to make your mani last longer.
These polishes retail at £4.99 each and can be found in Superdrug stores, Models Own Bottle Shops (I wish I had one near me they look amazing) or alternately on line here.
